Design and display
The iPhone 17 Pro Max features a new aluminum unibody design and a vapor chamber for improved heat dissipation. For display protection, it uses a new Ceramic Shield 2 on the front and, for the first time, a Ceramic Shield on the back.
- Size and weight: 6.43 inches (163.4 mm) tall by 3.07 inches (78.0 mm) wide, with a depth of 0.34 inch (8.75 mm). It weighs 8.22 ounces (233 grams).
- Finish: Available in Silver, Deep Blue, and Cosmic Orange.
- Display: 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 2868-by-1320-pixel resolution and a peak outdoor brightness of 3000 nits. It features ProMotion technology with adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz.
- New features: The display is surrounded by thinner bezels and has an improved anti-reflective coating.
Camera
The camera system includes three 48MP “Fusion” cameras on the rear and a new “Center Stage” front camera.
- 48MP Fusion Main camera: Features a 24/48mm focal length and ƒ/1.78 aperture.
- 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera: Has a 13mm focal length, ƒ/2.2 aperture, and a 120° field of view.
- 48MP Fusion Telephoto camera: Uses a tetraprism design with a 56% larger sensor, offering an 8x optical-quality zoom at 200mm and up to 40x digital zoom.
- 18MP Center Stage front camera: Features a new square sensor that allows for flexible framing, including taking landscape photos while holding the phone vertically.
- Video: The phone can record in ProRes RAW and 4K at 120fps with Dolby Vision.
Performance and battery
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is powered by Apple’s latest chipset and is built for enhanced performance, especially for graphically intensive tasks and Apple Intelligence features.
- Chip: Apple A19 Pro with a 6-core CPU, 6-core GPU with Neural Accelerators, and a 16-core Neural Engine.
- Memory and storage: 12GB of RAM with storage options from 256GB up to a new 2TB maximum.
- Battery: An eSIM-only model has a capacity of 5,088 mAh and up to 39 hours of video playback. A model with a physical SIM slot has a 4,832 mAh battery.
- Charging: Supports up to 40W wired charging, capable of reaching 50% charge in 20 minutes with a compatible adapter. It also supports 25W MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging.
Connectivity and features
The phone features the new iOS 26 and is compatible with the latest connectivity standards.
